RNA Meeting Monday, Feb. 10, 7-8:30 pm at Rudy’s BBQ on Lamar

Rudy's BBQ on North LamarThe RNA will meet on Monday evening, February 10 at 7:00pm at Rudy’s BBQ on Lamar Blvd in the Crockett Room (on the south end). During this meeting we will elect RNA officers and Steering Committee members for 2020; nominations will be posted later this week.

We will also discuss the current state of the Land Development Code (LDC) Revision (the CodeNEXT continuation), which the City Council will be taking up at a series of meeting next week. City staff, working at the direction of Council, has recently unveiled an updated map of the proposed new zoning. The updated map includes changes in the Rosedale area along 45th Street but appears to leave other upzoning in place as it affects Rosedale. We are beginning to analyze the most recent changes and hope to have more information at the February 10 meeting.

Thanks to everyone who cares about our city and our neighborhood. We hope to see you at Rudy’s on February 10 at 7 pm!

Live from Ramsey Pool It’s SATURDAY NIGHT POOL PARTY!

Ramsey PoolDear Rosedale Neighbors,

The ANNUAL BACK-TO-SCHOOL END-OF-SUMMER POOL PARTY at Ramsey Pool is a so on for this Saturday evening, August 18, from 6 to 8 pm. Come enjoy the pool, where the aerator has kept the water so refreshing this summer!

Enjoy pot-luck music, drinks, and snacks and friendly conversations for a couple hours while the sun sets languidly over the tennis courts. Bring a box or bag or pan of your favorite picnic-table goodies to share. We will provide paper cups and napkins and plates and drinks.

The pool closes for the season at the end of the party, so this is your last chance this summer to skip your Saturday night bath!

RNA meeting 4/2/2018 at La Mancha with CodeNext report

La Mancha RestaurantDear Rosedale,

With the Yarborough Library is undergoing renovations, the Rosedale Neighborhood Association will meet at alternate locations and times this year.

RNA meets this Wednesday, April 4, in a private dining room at La Mancha restaurant at 2203 Hancock Dr, 78756. The meeting will start at 7:00 pm, and light snacks like nachos and guacamole will be provided. If you’d like food or drinks for the meeting, we recommend arriving a few minutes early to order.

The main item on the agenda is an in-depth presentation headed by Chris and Gina Allen on the new Draft 3.0 of CodeNEXT and how it would affect Rosedale.

We will also hear a brief presentation from state officials regarding state construction in the 51st St/Lamar area that is scheduled to start around May 1.

Other matters for discussion include an update on Grove developments and a report on our discussions with Rudy’s BBQ regarding smoke from the new Lamar location.

Mark your calendar and let me (president@rosedaleaustin.org) know if you have any questions. A big thanks to La Mancha for letting us use the room and making RNA feel welcome!
