RNA Meeting Tuesday, June 18 at Rudy’s

The next meeting of the Rosedale Neighborhood Association will be held in the back room at Rudy’s BBQ on Tuesday, June 18, at 7 pm. This is in lieu of the regularly scheduled meeting for June 4, which is cancelled.

The June 18 meeting will focus primarily on the City of Austin’s new rewrite of the Land Development Code. The current rewrite revisits many of the same goals and changes that were proposed by CodeNext, and has the same potential to profoundly change the way Rosedale and the remainder of the city develops. It is on a fast track, and has substantial council support. I urge everyone in Rosedale to become informed regarding this matter.

Some comments from Council Member Leslie Pool regarding the new code rewrite are posted here: https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/rosedale/conversations/messages/51227

Recent comments from Council Member Alison Alter are here: https://app.getresponse.com/view.html?x=a62b&m=TAOCf&u=STGys&y=0&dont_redirect=1&fbclid=IwAR2HH9qDyxvSUOYzEx4v-14Aumg3rrZNhGS291llTAB9YGsncdSzkz2iHb4

The official site for the Land Development Code is: http://austintexas.gov/ldc

Thanks everyone. Additional announcements will follow as we approach June 18.

RNA Bylaws Changes Proposed

The Rosedale Neighborhood Association Steering Committee has initiated the process of amending its bylaws. This process is described in Article XII of the current bylaws (https://rosedaleaustin.org/the-rna/by-laws/by-laws-current-version/#article-xii).

The amended bylaws are now open for review and comment by all residents and real property owners in the Rosedale neighborhood. The process requires a period of three RNA meetings, either regular monthly meetings or the annual meeting.

The first meeting in the sequence was the one on Tuesday, November 13. At this meeting, the proposed changes were introduced. This post makes the amended bylaws and motivation documents (both PDF) available via the RNA website. We will distribute a notice to subscribers of the RNA mailing list and are placing a paper copy at Yarborough library. A paper newsletter in early December will further share information about the bylaws updates and process and will also announce the annual meeting.

The second meeting in the sequence will be the annual meeting on December 18. At this meeting, the proposed changes will be open for discussion. At this meeting, we will summarize any discussion that has appeared on the electronic mailing list.

The third meeting in the sequence will take place on February 5, 2019. At that time, we will hear final comments and take a vote from RNA members in attendance.

Live from Ramsey Pool It’s SATURDAY NIGHT POOL PARTY!

Ramsey PoolDear Rosedale Neighbors,

The ANNUAL BACK-TO-SCHOOL END-OF-SUMMER POOL PARTY at Ramsey Pool is a so on for this Saturday evening, August 18, from 6 to 8 pm. Come enjoy the pool, where the aerator has kept the water so refreshing this summer!

Enjoy pot-luck music, drinks, and snacks and friendly conversations for a couple hours while the sun sets languidly over the tennis courts. Bring a box or bag or pan of your favorite picnic-table goodies to share. We will provide paper cups and napkins and plates and drinks.

The pool closes for the season at the end of the party, so this is your last chance this summer to skip your Saturday night bath!
