The city is trying to get out the word that they have lots of openings for lifeguards for their 50 aquatic facilities throughout Austin, and those include our own Ramsey Pool. The city says they employ over 600 guards a year and are currently working to fill their rosters. Anyone 15 years or older can apply at the city’s jobs website. Their slogan is Get Hired Get Trained and Get Working! They offer training for first-time lifeguards, returning lifeguards that need re-certification, and lifeguards that are interested in becoming an instructor.
