Thanks to Alison Beck, a RosedaleNA Steering Committee member who attended the presentation last night, we have the following update on Milestone’s plans for the vacant land. Please take a moment to read through her notes and visit the websites listed. We need input to take back to the developers before they finalize their plans with the City. If you have any questions you can contact me directly at gina@somearchitect.com for more info.
Thanks, Gina Allen—Bull Creek Road Coalition Representative for Rosedale The name of the development is “The Grove at Shoal Creek.” Their plan calls for:
- Residential—1240 units – single family homes on 40 and 50 ft wide lots and 2 and 3 story town homes
- Hotel—100 rooms
- Assisted Living—400 beds
- Office—350,000 sq. ft.
- Retail—115,000 sq. ft.
- Grocery—35,000 sq ft. on the scale of Fresh Plus
There will be some parking in front of the retail but most of the parking will be in garages. 16 acres is to be devoted to park space. 12 acres will be along the west side of Shoal Creek. There will be a one acre pond to catch run-off water. 2 miles of trails throughout project with connectivity to other neighborhoods. But it’s unlikely they will bridge Shoal Creek to give access to neighbors in Rosedale. They haven’t purchased land east of Shoal Creek. There will be a greenbelt. The entrance to the development will be through a grove of oak trees. The development and park will be open to the public. Attendees at the meeting were most concerned about open space and traffic. You can find more info about the development and see the presentation from last night on their website at www.milestonebullcreek.com and there is also a FAQ page on the site.
