In case you missed it, overnight between June 12th and ‘Friday the 13th’ a major storm blew through Rosedale, felling trees and limbs, and cutting off power to many. While there may not have been the tornado that Burnet County endured, here in the neighborhood falling trees damaged at least one house and car. Power was out for some for over twelve hours. The Austin Energy web page for reporting and checking on outages showed scores of houses in the hood without power.
Below are a few pictures of the aftermath.
Pictures are of:
- A limb partially blocking 41st Street between Ramsey and Sinclair.
- A tree that fell and damaged a house in the 4000 block of Ramsey.
- A sycamore that fell, causing damage to a vintage auto, and blocking all of Sinclair in the 4500 block.
- An understandably bleary eyed Mark Murray, from KVUE, possibly tweeting about the storm the next morning from the Starbucks in Rosedale.
There was plenty more impressive downed limbs visible through out the neighborhood. We hope everyone got through the storm without any serious injury or damage.
