After 36 years serving Rosedale residents (and others) down home breakfast fare from the corner of Burnet and West 49th, the Omelettry is reluctantly relocating east to Airport Boulevard. The new location, just north of In and Out Burgers, will have a larger kitchen, a huge parking lot, and more booths and counter seats. The Omelettry will continue to operate at their current location, 4811 Burnet Road, until their new home is ready which is expected to open in October, 2014.

The Omelettry Announces New Location
Austin – March 21, 2014 – After 36 years on Burnet Road, the Omelettry is moving to Airport Boulevard. Although disappointed the landlord declined to renew their lease, owner/manager Kenny and Jesse Carpenter are excited to be moving to the Concorde Center at 4631 Airport. The new location, which is directly north of In and Out Burgers, provides room for a larger kitchen to better serve customers during peak hours, a huge parking lot, and a lot more booths and counter seats.
“We were urban pioneers when we first opened the Omelettry in 1978,” said Kenny Carpenter. “Burnet Road was full of shuttered businesses and our building had seen a number of failed restaurants before we got there. So we’ll be urban pioneers again on Airport. We see great potential there – that area is so underserved.” He doesn’t expect to change much of anything other than incorporating some new technologies. “We won’t be using those weird wait list pagers – we’ll still have our host hollering out your name when your table is ready. But we’ll no longer be cash only. You’ll be able to use credit cards at the Omelettry!
The Omelettry will continue to operate at their current location, 4811 Burnet Road, until their new home is ready on Airport. They expect to open their new location in October, 2014; look for updates and news on their Facebook page.
