One block of 39th closes temporarily for Lamar Central work

road_closedAs a part of the construction going on at 38th and North Lamar, one block of 39th Street will be closed for six weeks. The letter of March 12th from Highland Resources, shown below, announces the necessary disruption, explains alternate routes, and describes planned safety measures.

Dear Neighbor,

In June 2014, Highland Resources, Inc. started construction of a new four-story, 165,000 square-foot, mixed-use office redevelopment at the northwest corner of 38th Street and North Lamar Boulevard.

During this current phase of construction, it is necessary to close 39th Street (just north of Lamar Central) to all traffic from Lamar Blvd. to Medical Parkway for a brief period of time. The closure will begin on the morning of Monday, March 16, 2015, and will last for approximately six weeks. Alternative traffic routes include 38th Street and 39th ½ Street via Lamar Blvd. or Medical Parkway.

Highland’s contractor, Roger’s-O’Brien, will manage the road closure and will have a flagger onsite as an additional safety measure to help navigate traffic. If you have any questions as a result of this activity, please contact us immediately at (512) 748-6896.

As we continue the redevelopment effort, outreach to the surrounding neighbors and businesses remains a top priority. We hope you will consider these regular construction updates as an open invitation for dialogue moving forward. If you have questions at any time during the construction process, please contact a member of our community outreach team.
