The 21st annual 3M Half Marathon comes through Rosedale January 25th and with it will come runners and road closures. Starting in far north Austin at 7a.m. the race is scheduled to close parts of Shoal Creek Blvd. and 45th St. from 5:45 a.m. to around 11:20 a.m. Details are available online for traffic and parking info, road closure specifics and race route. The run benefits Girlstart and is a great opportunity for Rosedale to get out and cheer on the 5,000+ participants.

Dear Austin Neighborhood Associations,
On January 25, 2015 the 3M Marathon will take place on the streets of Austin. An estimated 7,000 runners will take part in the Half Marathon. The Half Marathon will benefit Girlstart, a program dedicated to the advancement of female leadership by providing year-round, intensive suite of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education programs for K-12 girls. The race will begin at 7:00 AM near Stonelake Blvd. near York Blvd. and conclude with a post-race festival located at 16th St. at N. Congress Ave.
The route utilizes Stonelake Blvd., Braker Ln., Burnet Rd., Shoal Creek Blvd., 45th St., Duval Rd., San Jacinto Blvd., and other local roads. Please see the attached map for the 2015 race route.
Roads along the route will begin closing at 6:00 am and will remain closed until the last runner passes. Cross traffic will be allowed to cross the route at certain intersections staffed by officers from the Austin Police Department; for detailed road closure information please visit www.3mhalfmarathon.com.
