Subcommittees

Community Relations
This group coordinates efforts to welcome new residents, seek input on program needs, and encourage residents to participate as block captains, in Neighborhood WatchNational Night Out, and the Austin Police Department Community Engagement Meetings for Baker Sector (generally held quarterly).

Electronic Communications
This subcommittee sets up, promotes, and maintains forums such as the Rosedale mailing lists, the RNA web site, and the RNA Facebook page to facilitate communications among Rosedale residents.

Neighborhood Events
This subcommittee plans and coordinates volunteers for the main event, the 4th of July Parade and Carnival, as well as the End of Summer and Winter Holiday Celebrations.

Neighborhood Features
This subcommittee coordinates efforts to protect and preserve the natural and historical features of the neighborhood and work with Austin Parks and Recreation to resolve any issues with Ramsey Park and pool.

Newsletter
The editor produces content for a new edition of the Rosedale newsletter when requested by the Steering Committee and coordinates production of both paper and electronic versions. The distribution coordinator organizes volunteers to deliver paper copies to residents.

Parks
This subcommittee surveys residents about ways to improve the park, applies for grants when appropriate, and oversees implementation. Read the latest news about Rosedale’s parks.

Traffic and Parking
This group works with City of Austin on alleviating traffic and parking issues though tools such as the Residential Permit Parking program and traffic calming efforts.

Zoning
Under the direction of the Steering Committee, they coordinate volunteers to track zoning requests presented to Austin City governmental entities in an effort to keep the neighborhood informed about decisions that affect them, and to advocate the RNA’s position.
